"중국 마스크공장 위생 엉망...먼지 날리는데 장갑도 안 껴"<br /><br />China has positioned itself as an enormous exporter of protective face masks amid a global shortage prompted by the coronavirus pandemic.<br />However, the Hong Kong-based media outlet Ming Pao reported Tuesday most Chinese factories making the masks have serious hygiene problems.<br />It said 60 percent are not equipped with aseptic facilities that are essential for manufacturing medical products.<br />Also, licenses issued by the Chinese government can be bought easily from unqualified companies and are often shared by multiple companies.<br />The recent approval of Chinese face masks as an alternative to KN95 by the U.S. Health Department led to exponential demand from other countries...and many are in a tough spot as the masks aren't up to standard.<br />However, the U.S. has decided to strengthen quality screening for masks from China after the Netherlands recalled 6-hundred-thousand masks ordered from China because they didn't offer adequate protection.<br />
